सोनू निगम, कृष्णकली साहा
Sonu Nigam, Krishnakali Saha

3.16
An unfussy arrangement that prioritises perfectly poised lead vocals and that driving takadum beat. -Uday

It is a delight to listen to Sonu Nigam's voice in soft romantic numbers. The tonal quality in those elongated notes is worth several listens. -Deepa

A song that excels in all departments. Film duets can't get more formulaic, but the brilliant lead vocals by Sonu Nigam and Krishnakali Saha have made a chartbuster out of the well-made track. -Nagarajan

ARR Hangover! Still works well for Sonu. -Pavan

Feels like a song from 90s (Ye haseen waadiyan). Both Sonu Nigam and Krishnakali Saha bring that romantic feel with their smooth voices. -Vaishali

Besides the hugely listenable main tune that makes great use of Darbaari Kaanadaa raaga, the composing duo handle the interludes too impressively. The singers—Sonu Nigam and Krishnakali Saha—handle the melody with immense grace. -Karthik

A fantastic Raag Darbari composition by Sachin - Jigar. Amitabh Bhattacharya's lyrics and Sonu Nigam and Krishnakali Saha's vocals work very well. -Anish

Ah, the Sonu nostalgia hit hard with this one. Never lose that falsetto. :-). -Shalini

Echoes of "Ye Haseen Vaadiyaan" (Roja) and "Jiya Jale" (Dil Se)? Sonu Nigam in form and "reining it in" a little, female vocals well done too (sweet but not nauseatingly so). Nice octave drop to finish the antara. -Sanjeev

Oh, Sonu! It is always a special aural pleasure listening to him render any song, but the moment you contain his random vocal antics and give him a graph, he soars with it. Slightly autotuned, but he sounded pretty much like the Sonu of 2000s and it brought a nostalgic smile to me face. Krishnakali Saha holds her own and creates an ambiance with her earnest singing. Sachin-Jigar manage to stir up a melody that is a blend of "yeh haseen wadiyaan" and "kehna hi kya", but they managed to infuse their trademark charm to it. The usage of the backing vocals also elevated the song to another level. -Apoorv

Sonu Nigam is good, even if I have slight issues with how he takes up the higher notes. Glad to hear him in film music again. I must say Krishnakali Saha is up to the task of singing alongside him and also adds some variations to the tune in spots that took me by surprise. -Runcil

So refreshing to hear Sonu after all the Arijit and Vishal Mishra songs. Mediocre song otherwise. Too many songs this year that feel ARR, maybe this is why ARR is getting less work;) The tarana remind of Jiya jale and overall composition is again reminiscent of too many ARR songs. -Shivani

Captivating melody blending the tranquil essence of South Indian rhythms with the soulful depth of Hindustani ragas. -Vidyu

Tagadhoom. . Carried the song and the movie! Sonu makes the melody seem so simple to listen. The interludes and the bridge adds to the flavor of a song that will have a long shelf-life. Lovely harmony of melodies shared by the male and female singers. Certainly one of the top effects created this year by a single song. -Ajay

अरिजित सिंह, हंसिका पारीक
Arijit Singh, Hansika Pareek

3.11
Gives a vintage feel with the hoof beat rhythm. Lyrics are poetic and simple. -Deepa

Hemant Kumar meets Mohd. Rafi? Soft corner for "retro" stuff that is at least somewhat tastefully done. Nice female voice, vaguely Shreya-esque but not quite as goody-goody. -Sanjeev

Song of 2026 for me. Immediate liking on first hear and immense repeat value. Fresh and frothy composition by Amit Trivedi, OPN nostalgia in modern orchetration. Arijit sounds light despite his heavy voice. Lyrics are decent too. -Shivani

Song of the year for me! It perched at the top of my personal ranking the day it dropped all the way back in January 2025 and did not get displaced all the way through to the end of the year. There is something so incredibly effusive about this song that it just makes me break into a smile on every listen. Amit Trivedi creates another duet firmly fixed in the retro mold after "ghoDe pe sanwaar" (Qala) and "nahi ji nahi ji" (Jubilee) that it now feels like he is secretly time-travelling! Be it the "tonga beats" or the orchestration in the interludes, it all works like a charming ode to the golden 50s and 60s. And his trusted companion in all this, Amitabh Bhattacharya, pens a song that could have, in lesser talented hands, easily slipped into the simplistic territory - there is a playfulness here but one that comes with heft (इश्क़ हुआ तो आने लगी तहज़ीब, अजीब-ओ-ग़रीब तरकीब लगाए नसीब). Arijit Singh sounds so fresh in his rendition, that I am more than happy to overlook the next 5 songs where he lazes around. Notice the way he sings मिलना नहीं था मिलवा दिया with that little dip in मिलना and मिलवा, oh, now that's how you add dynamics to singing while elevating the mood of song. Absolutely beautiful. But, the cherry on the top of this masterful melody was Hansika Pareek! She sings in the Shreya Ghoshal/Palak Muchhal style, but she sounded tailor-made for this song. There are no unnecessary embellishments or an effort to overdo any harkats, she perfectly captures the nabz of the song and sounds like a songbird. Ah, guess what, I am smiling again - magic of music! -Apoorv

Musical style is rooted in popular Indian film music of the 50s, characterized by catchy melodies, expressive vocals yet modern instrumentation. -Ajay

Very sweet song that has a beautiful old-world charm to it. -Anish

Can be heard for harmless nice positive vibes, with some OP Nayyarish treatment in Melody. Hansika has a late but nice cameo and compliments Arijit well. -Pavan

Cute throwback song that had me fantisizing how wonderful it would have sounded in Rafi and Asha's voices. Sigh. -Shalini

Gimmicky and thin. -Manjiri

Charming OP Nayyar-esque track. The occasional backing vocals are a nice touch. -Uday

In Ajeeb O Gareeb, Amit gets the retro Hindi filmy music style beautifully well while not going overboard with the ‘ghoda-ghadi’ sound (given the film’s theme built around the horse) and using it only incidentally. -Karthik

OPNayyar-esque, sweet song with old time feel and instruments. Amit Trivedi's journey in recreating the feel from old hindi film music continues. -Vaishali

Amit Trivedi is becoming exclusively good in the retro genre! -Nagarajan

Felt that old Amit Trivedi magic once again. -Runcil

It is reminiscent of old songs, and very appealing. -Vidyu

The parts shouldn't fit - Another One Bites the Dust bassline, Pete Townshend power chords, driving qawwali - but they work like gangbusters. -Uday

The Lathi of Na to Kaarwaan supports the newer bits well. Shashwat pulls it off with loads of energy thrown in. -Pavan

A song that making all the waves, but sadly I haven't caught the train. Sounds a little too cacophonous and one that is trying to do one too many things at once. -Apoorv

Sad but rebellious, love here is neither a journey nor a destination. It is an experience. Beautifully blended with the timeless qawwali. -Deepa

Must say I did not have a mashup between "another one bites the dust" and "na toh carvaan ki talash hai" on my musical bingo card! But, this rousing song is testimony that sometimes opposites complement. -Shalini

"Another One Bites the Dust" meets "Barsaat Ki Raat"? I want to give this more points for its nod to that iconic qawwali, but overall result feels disjoint. Armaan Khan seems to have been given some "stock" sargams, but nice taans at the end, curious to hear what he sounds like in his own song. -Sanjeev

Strong vocals. The song feels raw, rugged and sophisticated simultaneously. At times, it feels like it is trying to do too much. -Vaishali

The fresh tune created by Shashwat and the new lyrics written by Irshad Kamil merge seamlessly and complement the original. -Anish

As a standalone, again reminded of ARR, this time the haunting in the higher notes reminiscent of Dil se title track. The song hoewever works better when you watch the movie. Singers bring out the angst well. It's a smart move to use Na to kaarwan ki talaash hai for describing Ranveer's focused and dangerous mind. However, the use of Aakash to make it rhyme with Talaash sticks out like a sore thumb in an otherwise all Urdu song. -Shivani

Blends traditional Qawwali/Sufi music with contemporary Bollywood sounds, creating a powerful, dramatic, and spiritual track that also sees modern remixes leaning into club style music. -Ajay

This album is a great mix, all well-produced, and Ishq Jalakar is the song of the album for me. Everything works so well here, the reworking of the qawwali is such a delight. -Nagarajan

A bass riff that feels similar to Queen's Another One Bites The Dust, a steady beat that seems like the same tempo as Michael Jackson's Beat It, and of course the famous lyrics from Na To Caravan Ki Talaash Hai… It's a pastiche of a song, sampling and lifting from different places and influences, but the end result is electrifying. Sachdev does a terrific job is being able to make this stand on its own. -Runcil

Forced intensity. -Manjiri

A harmonious melody that comes together really well in Abhay Jodhpurkar and Aanandi Joshi’s singing. -Karthik

Refreshingly soulful composition. -Vidyu

Beautiful composition by Justin, specially the chorus use in Saare jag me followed by techno Sarangi. . We need more of Justin in Hindi cinema. Abhay does well too with emotional curve of the song, specially stanzas. . Also Justin's use of Saare jag me after Kathak bols again provides a good culmination. -Pavan

Interesting composition, almost like a devotional song, with a nice change of pace near the end. -Uday

Abhay Jodhpurkar's voice is soothing. You feel pleasant listening to this song, buoyed by Justin Prabhakaran's composition and production. -Runcil

Justin Prabharan-Abhay Jodhpurkar collaboration is cementing strong. -Nagarajan

Like Justin's lead voice and the mix of chorus. -Ajay

A promising start to the song, let down by reasons I can't put a finger on; maybe it is too many things coming together including the use of pooja bells (gives it almost a bhajan feel, some spiritual lyrics might have worked well). Just not working for me. -Shivani

Beautifully sung by Abhay Jodhpurkar and Aanandi Joshi. The instrumental additions in the interludes and background, chorus are all well used -they don't overwhelm the song (except a bit at the end). -Vaishali

The pièce de résistance of a stellar musical album! Justin Prabhakaran creates a memorable melody here and he is ably supported by his artists. Akkarsh Kashyap's sentimental Violin refrains, Kishore Kumar's meandering Sitar riffs, the string of Guitars that magically appear and bind the song together at different intervals and then the immaculate Percussion procession laced with Ashwin Subramaiyan's konnakol towards the end culminating into the symphonic zenith is a treat to the senses. Abhay Jodhpurkar's controlled and assured singing with seemingly particular attention towards keeping the pronunciations softer, only adds to the magical feel of the song. Not to forget an excellent usage of the backing vocals. Truly a song that is going stay with me for a while. -Apoorv

"Tuuum Ja Rahe The, Hamase Jo Roothe" - not sure I like the octave-ing in the chorus or the doublespeed sargams, but otherwise pretty well-sung. Rhythm at the end a little aggressive for the mood. -Sanjeev

Nothing distinctive. Garden variety music that breaks my heart and head. -Manjiri

This one was almost like a romantic bhajan. -Shalini

Free-flowing tune by Justin Prabhakaran that is well-complemented by Rajshekhar's lyrics and Abhay Jodhpurkar's vocals. -Anish

2.93
This is Vishal Mishra the composer at his best this year. The Yaman-based composition unfolds extremely gently and guides us through its various picturesque alleys with extreme aplomb. The antras are absolutely worth being charmed by. And a lot of that credit also goes to Armaan Khan. He is assured, composed, confident, and melodic, all while being emotive and expressive. Prashant Sonagra's Tabla, Tapas Roy's Strokes, Mukhtak and Ishteqak Khan's Dholak all make excellent companions who elevant the feel of the song only for it all to crescendo in a riveting end taken home by Armaan's aalaps. Everything felt like it fit perfectly and sonorously. A song that could have easily fit into a Sanjay Leela Bhansali historical, a song that definitely fits in my favorites of the year! -Apoorv

Composition, singing, lyrics, arrangements - everything works. -Anish

Another "quiet qawwali." Liked this one too. -Shalini

Vishal Mishra continues a good form and gives it a dual color with introduction of chorus qawwals. Singing is nuanced too. -Pavan

Captivating composition that seamlessly weaves together exquisite raagas, brought to life through enchanting vocals and complementary lyrics. -Vidyu

Yaman Kalyan influences, tune reminds me of the version of "Shree Ramachandra Kripalu" popularized by Lata Mangeshkar, also some echoes of AR Rahman's "Azhagu Nilave" in the antara; Armaan Khan shines. . -Sanjeev

Qubool has Vishal blending Mithoon and Vishal Bhardwaj into an elegant melody with old-worldly charm. The calm melody breaks out with a lovely Qawwali-style chorus only towards the end. -Karthik

A stunner and underdog melody of the year by Vishal Mishra. Glad Vishal Mishra handed this melody over to Armaan Khan's capable vocals. -Nagarajan

Vishal Mishra is here to stay. Bold melody based on mixed raga. Expressive vocals and cinematic arrangements in the song create a nice effect. Reminds me of 'Yeh Lal Ishq'. -Ajay

Can almost hear a deep surrender in the voice. -Deepa

Yaman is a favourite and hence the immediate liking to this song. And that's why the teevra madhyam of Ye raabta qubool hai will remind you of Ke dil abhi bhara nahin. Also, reminiscent of SLB songs where Vishal Mishra takes a detour from Yaman and beautifully uses the komal swars. Good on his part to have chosen someone else for singing; Armaan Khan has done a decent job. One of the better songs of 2026. -Shivani

I love Armaan Khan’s voice here, reminds me how much I miss the brilliance of Ustad Rashid Khan. -Vaishali

Earnest but shapeless. -Manjiri

2.92
Full-on singing by both Jazim S. And Himani K - definite repeat value. Sparse orchestration helps enjoy the voices. The chorus "Ooooo" between the male and female verses feels a little tacky. -Sanjeev

Trademark Vishal composition, evocative singing by Jazim Sharma and Himani Kapoor. -Uday

Hauntingly beautiful and nostalgic. -Vidyu

Lovely, wistful track, beautifully composed and sung with restraint. -Vaishali

Soulful, poetic, and nostalgic romantic music, blending traditional sounds with modern textures. Enjoyed Gulzar Sahab's poetry, often incorporating Punjabi elements and traditional themes of longing. -Ajay

Not a fan of Punjabi lyrics, more so when they are used to make only a hook line. And yet, quite like how Gulzar has written the full song in the language. Again, this is a template song with male singing high pitch and female singing low pitch (Himani doesn't have a higher range). Despite, this fits beautifully as the inherent Punjabi female voice is husky and their folk compositions are mostly made this way. -Shivani

Trying to remember the last time Gulzar wrote an entirely Punjabi song in a Hindi film - the man can do it all! Chosing Jazim and Himani to sing this was a fabulous choice by Vishal Bhardwaj, not only does it bring a level of authenticity in the diction, their voices inherently have a layer of pathos to them, and that works wonders with this mood of this song. Both create an engaging feel with heft in their singing and Vishal keeps the orchestration to a minimum letting the song settle over the listener like a warm blanket. -Apoorv

The tune has a heard-before feel to it. The lyrics and vocals significantly enhance its appeal. -Anish

Gulzar goes full Punjabi after long. . -Pavan

The music, the lyrics, the rendition are all in harmony in this quietly powerful song. -Shalini

2.88
Reflective, melancholic composition. -Vidyu

Enjoying Shilpa Rao's voice, but hard to judge the song further out of context; must have some symbolism. -Sanjeev

Shilpa with that husky tone gives it some color. . -Pavan

Minimal meditative arrangements highlighting Shilpa Rao's voice. Soulful, spiritual, often melancholic with Pop/Rock elements and deeply emotional sounds. -Ajay

A minimalist composition elevated by Shilpa Rao's soulful and soothing vocals. Tune of first line reminds of Tum to pyar ho sajna (Sehra). Lyrics also feel organic. Overall good repeat value. -Shivani

AR Rahman when he disembellishes his songs, creates mellifluousness! The unhurried nature of the song accentuates the longing and the minimal but defined orchestration allows the words and the singing to take center stage and connect to the listener more intimately. Shilpa Rao is outstanding here - her conscious attempt to extend her landing notes is a touch of brilliance. The reminiscence in the words translate into a feather glide of lingering notes almost attempting to being a soothing balm on a roiling blister. This one is here to stay, but not as something you would want to listen to everyday, but as something that you revisit once only so often, because you don't want it to loose its shine with overuse. -Apoorv

Shimmering, narcotic track. -Uday

Shilpa Rao has sung a handful of songs for AR Rahman, and this one is her best yet. -Nagarajan

Intense song rendered very well by Shilpa Rao. -Anish

Simply wonderful! Bravo, Shilpa Rao, Irshad Kamil and Rehman! -Shalini

2.88
A winsome country number by Trivedi, sweetened further by strings. -Uday

The entire talented team involved here seemed to be invested in creating excellence. Javed Ali and Papon's cross-scale symphonies throughout are magical and they are both playing to their strengths - Javed brings verve, Papon brings calm - together they are fire! Amit Trivedi created a humble melody, tuned it to have Raja Rasaily's Guitar as company and left it to his capable singers to take Varun Grover's expressive words (the thought behind तो सीधी राह पे भी यूँ ही टेढ़े चलें हम। is going to linger with me for a while) home! And homebound it went! -Apoorv

Varun Grover's lyrics and Papon and Javed Ali's singing worked much better than Amit's tune. -Anish

Happy compositions are Amit Trivedi's forte; they give hope. Love the use of Guitar throughout. Javed sounds very fresh and light, Papon's heavy voice however feels slightly misfit for the song despite good singing. -Shivani

The Amit Trivedi kind that I miss the most. More of this duet please. -Nagarajan

This track has such a rich musical arrangement. Sung so sincerely and tenderly by Javed Ali and Papon. I had to go back and listen to the sensitive lyrics again. -Vaishali

Feel Good, Spirited. . Garda ude lifts the spirits…. -Pavan

Refreshing! -Vidyu

Amit brings back his Kai Po Che-level sound in Yaar Mere, particularly in the breakout ‘Garda ude’ line. But this is, beyond that soaring line, a delivcate duet with great balance between the two singers. -Karthik

Classic friendship theme song reminding me of 'Kai Po Che' soundtrack. Blends traditional Indian melodies with contemporary sound fusion and emotional depth. The vocals blend themes of friendship and resilience well. Love their crescendos. -Ajay

Initially, I felt the lack of a burst towards the end after the build-up in the middle hindered the song. Over a few listens though, I was in love with it. Any qualms I had with it vanished. This is a beautiful song. Both Javed Ali and Papon complement each other, perfectly in line with the theme of friendship. Trivedi's best song in years. -Runcil

Like both the harmony and contrast Javed Ali and Papon's voices. Javed Ali opens up nicely up top, with Papon's texture providing a nice foil. Nice flourish from JA to finish off the song. -Sanjeev

This is not a musically challenging or ambitious song and is the better for it. The straightforward tune and light orchestration allows one to focus on the lyrics which are quite moving. -Shalini

Competent but emotionally muted. -Manjiri

Yaman Kalyan influences. Arijit outside the straightjacket is actually fun to listen to. Somewhat odd pronunciation of the word "Mohabbat". -Sanjeev

The lyrics lift this otherwise generic song. -Shalini

Catchy number with a wonderful lyrical refrain by Amitabh Bhattacharya. Was certainly expecting to better the first version's soundtrack and this number came close. -Ajay

Arijit in true collors, truly makes it a beautful listen. . One can listen this in repeat. . The sarangi bits also give it a lovely color. And Shilpa Rao is bonus in reprise version. -Pavan

Invigorating, mesmerizing lyrics, haunting melody and composition, beautiful voices in all versions of the song, and a track you can't stop playing on repeat! -Vidyu

Pritam, Amitabh, Arijit, all playing it safe. -Uday

Track of the year for me, and I love this the best in its reprise version that feels tailor-made for Shilpa Rao. A thing of beauty and Pritam continues to drop new versions in 2026! -Nagarajan

Arijit Singh’s stupendous singing and Amitabh Bhattacharya tastefully framed lines. Pritam’s tune for the ‘(Meri) Tumhi Se Hai Jawaabdaari’ is particularly lovely, along with the way Arijit handles it. -Karthik

Reminded of refrains of at least 2-3 songs at various places. -Shivani

A romantic number with a philosophical bent to it. Amitabh Bhattacharya's lyrics are very good. -Anish

Is this the first time ever we have four tandem solo songs in the same film sung by four completely different singers? Truly makes for a different experience (imagine we had something like this in the 60s and Lata, Asha, Rafi, and Kishore all had sung the same tandem solo - ah!). Having said that, the Arijit version is my least favourite of the four - missed his usual flair in songs like these, this seemed like there was a bit of soul missing, especially in the antras where it felt like freight train singing (the Papon or Shreya version felt like it had more of that soul and groundedness). Arshad Khan's Esraj pieces in the interlude are nice. -Apoorv

All these years I heard songs which made out the lover to the coveted "chhaoN" in the unforgiving sunlight and here comes this 91-year old man making me fall in love with "dhoop" - what a rarified talent! And I am so glad there exists a Vishal Bhardwaj who unleashed a youthfulness in Gulzar and gave us some of the finest lyrical and musical melodies over the last 30 years. This one is a worthy addition to that ouevre. There is THehraav, there is sehajta, and there is rooh. Arijit manages to shed the lazy rendition (which he seems to do a lot more often with Vishal's songs) giving it the life it needs, but it is the choir-like backing vocals that enhance the song for me. A worthy under-rated soundtrack of this year! -Apoorv

Pleasant but completely routine. It sounds like every other song of this genre of slightly urdu, sufi style love. -Manjiri

Instantly recognisable as Vishal's music, with Arijit doing a Vishal-like vocal. Lacks that extra something. -Uday

The "maile ho na jaaye paaon" refrain does have a haunting effect. .. Slightly more than the typical flat, "deadpan" too-cool-to care mode of expression, but only slightly. -Sanjeev

Signature Vishal Bhardwaj, what's not to love. -Nagarajan

A gentle offer of emotional closeness, protection and reassurance woven into equally gentle words. -Deepa

Arijit Singh sings the song very well but misses out on nukhtas (e. G hon is pronounced as ho). -Anish

Beautiful meody and lyrics. Pity it had to be Arijit Singh. -Shalini

Lyrics were what caught my attention before I even knew they were written by Gulzar saab. -Vaishali

Expressive vocals by Arijit Singh, innocent lyrics by Gulzar Sahab, and soothing composition by Vishal Bharadwaj. Blends modern sensibilities with classic romantic Indian film music. Interesting end to the song. -Ajay

A decent listen for its mood, but Vishal conciously trying a hand at his 90s walk-with-me romantic template (Jahaan tum le chalo songs] and missing Suresh Wadkar (& his innocense) terribly here. Arijit is just Ok. . The pauses in between works quite well in bringing a lazy elegance in the proceedings…. -Pavan

There’s a dreamy quality in the melody that Vishal embellishes with a gorgeous chorus (Vaishnavi Bhuyar, Surabhi Khekale, Vasudha Tiwari, Sonal Choubisa, Sushmita Narayan and Bandita Bharti). Vishal even infuses an intriguingly lovely diversion with the ‘Jahan Baithen Wahan Dhoop’ line! -Karthik

Sounds okay. A good mix of different songs. -Vidyu

Could play this song on repeat mode for sleeping off, in a good way, like you hear something soothing without noticing anything much. Love Arijit when his voice sounds a bit dry and broken like in the song. -Shivani

A dreamy ode to a lover. Its soundscape makes it perfect for night-time listening. -Runcil

Rochak Kohli composed two beautiful tunes in this and Jab Tu Sajan for this film. Here, I especially love the lyrics that fit the agonising vibe of the song like a glove fits a hand. -Runcil

Sanjith Hegde is reliably fantastic handling the flowing, interconnected lines in the song. -Karthik

A darker version of 'Jab Tu Sajan' that has a wonderfully haunting feel to it throughout. -Anish

Excellent chemistry between the words and the music. Sanjith Hegde has a peculiar voice, one that I normally would take a minute to warm up to, but using him for this song was a great choice. He has managed to capture the yearning pretty well and lands the hook line well each time all while gliding through the long-winded lines of lyrics. In a soundtrack replete with standout songs, this one manages to hold it own by not falling in the growing list of similar-sounding angsty songs. -Apoorv

Good composition, ill fitting lyrics, overdone signing. -Shivani

Top-tier stuff from Rochak Kohli. -Nagarajan

Song is well done using raw-ish vocals to bring out the angst in the situation. -Vaishali

Mood over melody. -Manjiri

The entire album blends modern sounds with traditional Indian influences. Moody, emotional, and somewhat dark ballad exploring heartbreak, longing, and the pain of separation. -Ajay

Rochak has an engaging compostion, with the words flowing well over it. . -Pavan

Conspicuous Jog base - more of the dry hard flat vocals. -Sanjeev

Intriguing composition, lots of harmonic and rhythmic ideas, never becomes predictable. -Uday

Warm, gentle melodic song. Well sung. This album is probably the best of the year. -Vaishali

We need more of Justin. -Pavan

Gentle tune on lively rhythms, heartfelt emotions with rich musical arrangements. -Ajay

Vishal Mishra seems to have produced a tonal quality very similar to Madhavan's, you could almost forget it isn't Madhavan singing himself. Raj Shekhar writes romance beautifully. Mila tujhe to ye laga, Kyun na tujhe pehle mila. .I am reminded of Javed Akhta in Duplicate - Tum mujhe kyun nahin mile pehle, Roz kehke mujhse ladti hai from Kaththai aankhonwali ik ladki. Overall, easy on ears. -Shivani

Wonderful harmonies. -Runcil

Lukewarm lyrics, simplistic tune, voices aren't bad, though the male voice is doing the "erratic tremor" thing again. -Sanjeev

Delightful love song with an airy, twinkling arrangement. -Uday

This soundtrack has all my heart! And this song is the refreshing after meal desert that makes the whole thing worthwhile. The backing vocals are absolutely perfect here and that "uu u uu" has been in my head for a while now. Vishal Mishra continues to shine and this time with a more controlled, sedate singing which was exactly what was required here. Prateeksha Srivastava is what brings the required sweetness. Notice her sing "qaafi hain" in the first stanza - ah, sugary sweetness! Justin Prabhakaran was simply composing on another level for this film, every song that came out was stellar - this one right up there as well. -Apoorv

Soothing and beautiful! -Vidyu

The song has the kind of tenderness that warms the cockles of your heart instantly. -Anish

Mila Tujhe shines with the soft, waltz’y vocal rhythm that opens the song, and the immensely likeable singing by Vishal Mishra and Prateeksha Srivastava. -Karthik

The synths, strings and harmonies remind of Ajay-Atul - probably a conscious decision to connect the sequel with Dhadak. Shreya's entry is beautiful, tune very similar to Kya us gali mein kabhi tera jaana hua (antara of Teri meri khamoshiyaan by Arijit) again written by Rashmi Viraag. Khamoshiyaan was better written though, this one is a mish mash of urdu flamboyance of ishq and cute hindi love which becomes sort of unpalatable. -Shivani

Love the voices, got the same feel as when I listen to tum ko payaa from Om Shanti Om. -Vidyu

Song flows like a current that sweeps one along on a wave of feeling. Would have rated this higher if the singers were less irritating. -Shalini

Lacks melodic distinction. It was fine while playing in the film with the visuals, on its own, no recall value. -Manjiri

A lush string arrangement in what's probably the most extravangantly romantic song of the year. -Uday

Sounds like a tribute to the original Dhadak number. -Deepa

This song had an uphill task to follow the musically rich Ajay Gogavale-Shreya Ghoshal title track from the previous Dhadak, and while the previous one still rules large, this one manages to perfectly hold its own. Javed-Mohsin's musical arrangement with the soaring String section, Tapas Roy's Strokes, Naveen Kumar's Woodwinds, the omnipresent Piano, and The Mumbai Vocal Choir all create a symphony that is reminiscent of and a worthy ode to the Ajay-Atul's predecessor. The tune that is structured to cascades towards a crescendo needs singing that would soar as well and both Shreya and Jubin are assured enough to carry that weight. Shreya particularly is a master at songs like these and the way she glides through the song is testament of it. -Apoorv

The Violins and Piano riffs recreates Ajay-Atul's Sairaat world, but then you realize its Javed-Mohsin this time. Jubin-Shreya makes it a good combo for duets. -Pavan

Sweet romantic number that makes for an easy listen. -Anish

Feels conspicuously like a mashup of "Chaand Chhupa Baadal Men" (HDDCS) and "Main Agar Kahoon" (Om Shanti Om); quasi Ajay-Atul orchestration? Male voice has range and texture but why the bias towards this hard, flat, nasal inflection? Female vocals deliver, but is the female voice supposed to provide all the "sugar and spice"? -Sanjeev

Javed-Mohsin channel Ajay-Atul in this lofty melody that’s easy on the ear, with a splendid strings backdrop and excellent singing by Shreya Ghoshal and Jubin Nautiyal. -Karthik

Music is from the family of the prequel which must be one of the requirements. Emotional depth in a haunting melody, and blends Ajay-Atul's signature contemporary sounds with traditional Indian musical elements, focusing on themes of longing and quiet romance. -Ajay

Lovely melody. Violins and orchestra in the background are great. The song is too high for female voice and takes away from the beauty of the song unfortunately. -Vaishali

Wow. . My favorite song of the year. Heard it multiple times and still does not tire on me. Tanishq Bagchi has put his heart into the composition which fit the lyrics and adapts to the situation yet keeping its identity. Electric guitar is perfectly used and Faheem's singing rises to the occasion to make it a befitting title song. -Ajay

Vocals overall not bad, but not buying the "Pukaaroo~~~~oo~~~~oo~~~~~ooon"; Song is too long for its own good. -Sanjeev

Situational track, grows gradually, works much better with the movie. First impression was. .. Kitna pukaroon oooon ooounnn ouuunnnn. . Didn't they find a better filler. However, not that bad overall. Make it an Arijit and you will surely think it was Pritam. -Shivani

Faheem's song. . Some old vibes from Pritam of Vishes films. -Pavan

Immersive song that scores high on all aspects. Faheem Abdullah's voice suits the song very well. -Anish

Faheem's vocal texture reminds me a bit of Adnan Sami with a mix of B Praak, which works nicely in this electronic heavy ballad. Good control over his breath and overall a good new voice to keep an eye out for. Tanishk Bagchi is in his element here and like he does more often than not, creates another viral song. -Apoorv

Singing carries a routine tune. Also, Instagram fatigue, it was overplayed and it was pretty mediocre for that. -Manjiri

Irresistible earworm-y mopey stadium rock. -Uday

Faheem Abdullah, what a voice. Good Bollywood debut for him and hope to hear even more of him in the future. -Runcil

Rochak Surprisingly does well, and Gurpreet is good too. Mohit is perfet driver of the song. -Pavan

A simple, heartfelt melody that is also catchy! -Anish

Weird effects on Mohit Chauhan's voice; tune and lyrics nothing special, but I do like the instrumental backing with the guitars and mandolins. -Sanjeev

Refreshingly beautiful! -Vidyu

Liked this quite a bit. The drift into qawwali territory added some interest to what might have just been a run-of-the-mill romantic number. -Shalini

Great choice by Rochak Kohli to get Mohit Chauhan to sing this, one of the great voices to register one's longing for someone. -Runcil

Mukhda composed beautifully initially and then going down the road oft travelled. However, both the music and lyrics are pleasant to hear, one keeps humming Ki jab tu sajan mere paas hai kuchh aur na chahe akhiyaan long after. AS for singing, can't stand Mohit most times. Sooo wish someone like Dev Negi to have sung this one, would have been a completely different song. -Shivani

Even with the obvious similarity to the exquisite 'tere hawaale', this song has a personality of its own - and that is owing to the choice of having Mohit Chauhan at the helm here. He brings a peculiar uniqueness to the rendition with his charming voice and together with Mohit Dogra's Guitar, there is a wonderful ambiance that gets created. -Apoorv

Beautiful words and fits the style of Mohit Chauhan's singing. Pleasant foot-tapping number. -Ajay

A breezy romantic song that has been composed, written, sung and arranged very well. -Anish

It sounds too similar to Khairiyat losing the originality aspect. -Vidyu

Immersive and intimate. Absorbed in melody. That change to tabla midways, makes lot of difference. -Deepa

Shaswat does a very audible job with the Arijit template. The melodic structure of the mukhda using repeated patterns - सा नि॒सा नि॒सा नि॒सारे॒ग॒रे॒सा नि॒ धनि॒ धनि॒ धनि॒सारे॒सानि॒ ध॒ पध॒ पध॒ (this can continue to पध॒नि॒सानि॒ध॒ प but here he then infuses it with his creation) - of using a descending alankaar makes it a wonderful composition. Was also reminded of Kehna hi kya (Bombay) in terms of composition as well as when the second antara switches from synth to classical notes and tabla. Particularly like the refrain "tera hua" in the lower notes while smoothly descending from the high notes of Gehra hua. .. Was the moment I kept waiting for throughout the song. I was slightly disappointed by the lyrics what with everyone wanting/writing a hook like to catch on to. -Shivani

I was going to rate this higher but I'm a little amused at how much Shashwat Sachdev has gotten away by making the arrangement sound similar to Yeh Haseen Vadiyaan in places while still being distinct enough. Overall, great tune though and his production throughout this song, keeping the instrumentation varied as we advance in this 6-minute song, is something that impressed me. -Runcil

The constant pronunciation of "agar" with the anglicized "r" sound kept nagging at me. The song was moving along at an expected rhythm, but the Tabla addition for the final cross-line was pretty fun. Generic otherwise. -Apoorv

The song took a couple of listens to grow on me. I found the use of the plucked instruments very intriguing. Also interesting use of sarangi at the end. -Vaishali

Even though there seems to be a lot of ‘Pudhu VeLLai Mazhai’ (Roja) in the background, this is still a lovely song. Arijit Singh and Armaan Khan handle the sweeping melody phenomenally well, particularly the ‘Gehra Hua’ hook. -Karthik

Took some time to get used to this melody, especially how it does a mood shift in the middle with the introduction of the Tabla. Good one, but not my pick of the album. -Nagarajan

Romantic soft arrangement with warm melodies, and Arijit Singh's signature vocals, blending traditional Indian music elements with contemporary cinematic sounds. -Ajay

Earnest but dull. -Manjiri

Too smooth and bland despite stealing from multiple Rahman classics. -Uday

Arjit & Arman float well on flowing riffs put on Shashwat. The arrangement is interesting and makes is a better listen. -Pavan

Arijit doing the "erratic tremor" thing. .. Random qawwali segment inserted? Kept searching for Armaan Khan before realizing they just wanted four lines of sargam from him. .. Was hoping for more. -Sanjeev

Good to different type of voice. Faheem Abdullah brought some weight to this heavy song. -Vaishali

A weary lament drowning in self-pity. -Uday

Rehman's music is appropriately dramatic and the lyrics are absolutely searing. Singing is not bad but not good either. Don't understand the preoccupation with singing with a drawl. -Shalini

Easily one of the best songs of the year for me. Between this and Saiyaara, Faheem is a revelation. -Nagarajan

Has the magic of the quintessential minimalist ARR, which has become a rarity. -Deepa

Some energy, but melodically weak. -Manjiri

Music and singing captures themes of pain, separation, and heartbreak. Some Sufi-rock sound makes it interesting. -Ajay

ARR feels effortful; still a good composition, let down by lyrics. -Shivani

Faheem Abdullah brings a brokenness and exhaustion to his voice that's perfect for this song. -Runcil

The song has an immersive quality to it and gets better with repeated hearings. -Anish

Sounds okay but a new take on Ae Ajnabee? -Vidyu

This song grew on me and a lot of that is because of that soulful Duduk by Kamalakar and the Classical Guitar by Renin Raphael in the prelude alongwith Hariprasad TS's Duff and that haunting Cello/String section in the interludes. This feels like an AR Rahman song that has been given some much deserved orchestrative attention by the composer and it shows. The melancholia exuded by the song matches the energy that ARR had managed with "tanhaayi" or "satrangi re" and Faheem Abdullah's throaty despondence breaks your heart. I only wished he was a little clearer in his pronunciation in the stanzas so that Irshad Kamil's piercing words could have hit the mark more earnestly.
-Apoorv

Faheem Abdullah’s singing is one reason why it works so well, but beyond the voice, Rahman’s composition made me sit up. It has the same intensity as Dil Se’s sedate Ae Ajnabi, but is slightly faster. And it has a winding melody that keeps finding ways to come back to the Awaara Angaara hook in beautiful ways. And the interludes are pure gold, especially the first one. -Karthik

Voice has some nice texture and fluidity without sounding totally mechanized and actually evokes some emotion, goes well with the "duff"; not fastidious about "k" vs. "Q", "taaraa" sounds like "taraa". .. Some definite echoes of "Enna Solla Pogiraai" in the beat and arrangement. -Sanjeev

Faheem Abdullah packs some intensity with a texured 'wounded' voice, in the ARR composition with lots of swings and momentum, which never peaks, and fades down in anger & frustration by design. Irshad Kamil has some interesting word play for he slow burns. -Pavan

The composition doesn't lives up to the quality of Gulzar lyrics. Vishal Mishra is functional but stylized singing reduces the impact, should have been crooned by the other Vishal [Bhardwaj] for better impact/. -Pavan

Quite a bleak outlook towards things, but the Vishal's along with Gulzar manage to create the sombre ambiance - especially Dilshan Khan's Sarangi in the second interlude is particularly haunting. Love the unembellished composition and rendition, although I would not have minded Vishal Bhardwaj singing this himself. -Apoorv

Moody track with a smooth Vishal vocal that lacks a bit of excitement. -Uday

It is always a treat for music lovers when Gulzar and Vishal Bhardwaj together. What lovely lyrics! -Deepa

Soulful song highlighting Gulzar Sahab's lyrics, yet blends Indian folk, classical influences, Sufi sounds, and contemporary styles. The deep, poetic lyrics by Gulzar create emotionally resonant and melodically diverse soundtrack. -Ajay

Vocals and backing create the mood well! -Sanjeev

Gulzar's lyrics and Vishal Mishra's vocals do the heavy lifting here. -Anish

What bleak, deeply melancholic lyrics. -Shalini

Signature Vishal Bhardwaj composition. The mukhda so reminds of a famous old advert music I am unable to recall. -Shivani

Vishal scores again with a pensive melody, this time in tow with Gulzar’s verse and Vishal Misra’s vocals. Fantastic guitar work in the background elevates this song significantly. -Karthik

An overdose of Arijit-like voices makes you notice dissimilar ones much better. Heard Raghav Chaitanya for the first time, tonal quality reminded of Javed Ali, albeit a little fuller than JA's. Also, I feel the duet compositions these days take into account the range limitations of female voices (many good singers can't sing on higher pitch, resorting to falsetto). So either you have songs where the female parts are on the lower side of the scale (this has become a tired template now) or the ones where Shreya/Palak/Hansika fit in when required to sing high notes. Only a few have this rare quality of being blessed with a base tonal quality and are still able to sing higher notes with a fuller voice really well, like Jonita or Shruti Pathak. Neeti is my fav in this category and she brings a beautiful quality to any duets she sings. The part where Pritam has used a harmony is a treat to hear. -Shivani

"Khhhwwwwwwwwaaab" aaya? Inconsistent pronunciation of specialized Urdu consonants. .. But I do like the texture and energy of the male voice. Neeti Mohan in good form too, like the harmonies. Lots of more Urdu-tilted words. .. Sounds impressive but need more time/space to decide how profound any of it is. -Sanjeev

This captures the feeling of being in love. Wonderful little duet. -Runcil

Cutesy song that reminded me of the many background songs in Jagga Jasoos. -Anish

Dus Haasil, Sau Baaki… Same for the song… The chorus segment brings the punch, but urdu words like Marhala and faani sound forced…. -Pavan

Pritam signature in the song all the way. Nothing special or fresh musically. -Ajay

Love this composition especially for the feel and arrangement. The vocals and harmonies make it an impressive listening experience. -Vidyu

Tune unremarkable but the warm, layered harmonies are hard to resist. -Uday

The best from a mammoth musical soundtrack! Everything about this song is pleasing from the big swings in the string orchestration to the small addition of the 'pa pa ra ra ri' scat vocals, it all works like a glue together and creates one of the most delightful melodies of the year. Raghav Chaitanya is a revelation here, he sounded so dulcetly sonorous that his every turn at the microphone almost felt assuring. That is not to say Neeti Mohan was any less appealing here, together they sounded heavenly and managed to wade through the alliteratively verbose yet meaningfully engaging lyrics. And it was the lyrics that truly perked my ears the very first time I heard the song, such priced choices by Sandeep Shrivastava (ये जीवन का पहिया, है फिर घूमे भैय्या, उसलन उसूलन रुकने से चलना भला है, हसीं मरहला है is going to be my new motto). For me this is lyrically a song of the year, not only for the usage of words that are practically lost in today's Hindi Film Music lexicon, but for the measured usage of it which pried a want in me to understand its linguistic geography. A song that says a lot, but sounds impeccably beautiful while saying that - what is not to like! -Apoorv

Catchy number with unpredictable and non-conventional melody, aiming for a unique feel. Lyrics match the vibe. -Ajay

When the song came out it didn't impress much but while listen to the annual playlist this brought so much of relief. The team of Anurag Saikia & Shashwat packs some punches and Madhubanti delivers the well. It surely demands a rerun. -Pavan

Too amused by its own cleverness. -Uday

I was not prepared for a zinger like this! Shashwant Dwivedi, take a bow for channeling the inner cheeky Gulzar but stamping it entirely by your own prowess. What banger lyrics! (हम छे घंटे की Picture है, तुम घुटने भर की झील, इतना deep emotion को कैसे करोगे feel?). This is truly creativity in writing without making it corny and then Anurag Saikia (in a year to cherish), tunes it with such verve that the song becomes an instant classic. Madhubanti Bagchi also threads that needle with precision (just like she did with 'ui amma' this year) by sounding coy but classy. What a mood changer! Impressive. Innovative. Impeccable. -Apoorv

Spunky song with unusual, quirky lyrics, sung with lot of swag and tayyari by Madhubanti Bagchi. Made me want to watch the movie…fillam dekho is is great PR for the film: -). -Vaishali

"Humein samajhne se eajee hai Ghalib, Khusro, Mir" might be my favourite lyric from any song last year, and this is a song that is filled with gem after gem of smart, winking lines. -Runcil

Cranky quirky lyrics by Shashwat Dwivedi elevate this desi song to a completely different level, absolutely loved them. Heard the first time while during this exercise and have been looping since. Anurag Saikia has composed it with restrain, also not allowed the singer to go overboard. 2025 Has been the year of Madhubanti Bagchi, she needs to ensure her rustic voice doesn't get typecast in these type of songs. Only nitpick from an extremely enjoyable song: Needed to pronounce Zulam/Zulmi without the nuqta to go with the basic premise of the song, wonder why she/they didn't. -Shivani

Enjoyed the various plays on words! -Sanjeev

Such a fun song. The voice somehow reminds of Rekha Bharadwj's tonal quality. -Deepa

Not sure what mood they're trying to create with the fiery drums/guitar and the high-pitched vocals on "Zamaana Lage. .." - Lyrics and music at odds. .. -Sanjeev

Flamboyant vocal from Arijit but a forgettable track. -Uday

The lyrics ranking is only for newer parts. -Pavan

Great song. Pritam with his characteristic flourishes, Shashwat-Arijit (what an exciting combo) in fine form. -Nagarajan

Arijit Singh and Shashwat Singh power this ghazal beautifully even as Qaisar Ul Jafri’s poignant lines stand out incredibly as well. -Karthik

Good tune - feels like a rehash of other Pritam songs. He needs to stop pushing Arijit's vocals in high range. -Ajay

Shashwat sings in the Arijit mold, so having them sing together is a very interesting choice. And honestly, Shashwat manages to hold his own and render a solid performance - but when Arijit swoops in to sing "tu is tarah se bewafaai kar" in the first antra, he makes it apparent why this is truly his genre of music. Interesting orchestration in the interludes with the Guitar and the Harmonium.

Having said all that, I still prefer Papon's evocative version of this song. -Apoorv

Sandeep Shrivastava writes fresh verses that complement the original lines written by Qaisar Ul Jafri very well. Pritam's tune, too, is fabulous! -Anish

Easy going tune with simple yet fresh lyrics. Good to hear new male voices being used in mainstream films. -Ajay

Darshan Raval and Jonita Gandhi handle the lilting melody that I can only describe as cozy – it feels so close and soft, amped up by Gurpreet Saini’s lines. -Karthik

Cute-sy melody. -Runcil

Pareet is what does the tarick (even if it was done for making it fit in a proper singing meter - just a guess - it kind of comes across as cute). Enjoyable ditty, pleasant acoustic guitars and both the singers too seem to be enjoying while singing. -Shivani

A catchy love song that keeps you engaged throughout its duration. -Anish

Couldn't get past the way the singers pronounce "preet" as pa reet." Understand it's intentional but that doesn't mean I have to like it! -Shalini

"Pa-reet" - didn't know that was a thing but I guess it must be…Both male and female vocals are nice but curves sound a little "angular" in spots. -Sanjeev

I was guilty of judging the song quickly and dismissing it based on the prelude thinking it is another one of those forced sad angsty songs. But, I should I have known that Rochak Kohli does put out consistently good work, and the antra and the usage of the backing vocals throughout is an example of it. Could have maybe turned out better with a more assured voice at the helm though. -Apoorv

Vocals are OK, Bass and chorus create a hypnotic effect in the "bridge" section. -Sanjeev

Prayer as a love song. Grew on me. -Shalini

Interesting rhythmic pattern, contrasting the emotions of the song. I wanted to hear again. Well composed and sung by Rochak Kohli. -Vaishali

Beautiful, feel good song. -Vidyu

A delightful treat from an obscure film. Kaalidhar Laapata's music is quintessential Amit Trivedi but one where they are at their melodic best. And the choice to have Deepali Sathe sung this was perfect - her no frills singing paired with that dulcet voice is a treat to listen to. Jubin also sounds controlled and collected which adds to the charm of the song. A big chunk of the credit to maintain the simplicity and effusiveness of this song, are Geet Sagar's words:.

Amit Trivedi gives a decent composition, but nothing more than that. . -Pavan

The emotional conflict beautifully brought out in the lyrics which are bittersweet. Joy, fear, uneasiness all rolled into one. -Deepa

Beautiful melodic trio. Well sung by all the singers. -Vaishali

Have liked Deepali Sathe's voice from her reality days. Would have loved had she sang more like herself than emulating Shreya or Palak. She doesn't sound a clone however. Amit Trivedi has made a pleasant composition. Geet Sagar does a decent job in lyrics. -Shivani

Will need to listen a few times to appreciate it better as it sounds repetitious. Desi, earthy, and emotionally raw, designed to fit a gritty, rural setting. -Ajay

Anurag Saikia's composition, Dr. Sagar's lyrics and Arijit Singh's singing complement each other very well. -Anish

Inspired by Pt. Kumar Gandharva? I never mind a little sparser orchestration; Arijit's voice somewhat liberated from the grip of the machines, though feels a little "dry" in places? The mild harkat on "Ham Hi To Bo_e Birwa" is endearing - effective finish with just the voice. .. -Sanjeev

Exactly the same comment as the Gustakh Ishq song Aap is dhoop mein. -Shivani

Nice to hear a mournful tune from the Hindi belt for a change instead of the standard Punjabi dirges. -Shalini

Very soulful composition. Similar vibe to one of my favorite by Arijit in Bengali, kichu kicho kotha. -Vidyu

Nothing new on offer still Dual Anurags deliver some surprise punches filled with smartness, specially with Arjit's folkish rendition. -Pavan

An unexpected treat but given it is Anurag Saikia at the helm it is absolutely unsurprising! He has absolutely mastered this rustic melody sound and has continuously managed to delivers songs and soundtracks that standout. There is incredible poignancy in Dr. Sagar's simple but powerful words and Anurag manages to create a melody that accentuates the agony. Pratik Shrivastava's Sarod and Bhagirath Bhatt's Sitar create an trance-inducing ambiance where is the heft and THehraav that demands you to pay attention. Arijit was probably the best (and only?) Voice for a song of this type, but I am firmly on the fence with some of his choices here. He manages to capture the mood with all its intensity, but the languid diction to the point of sounding bored was particularly jarring. I do not know he managed to do that and still make it work, but I am glad it did, because this is song not to be missed. -Apoorv

Some Ghulam Ali vibes? Singer is from "Saare Ke Saare Ke Akele" (Jubilee), here as there, the voice is nice and has some "phirat", but "aakaar" is a little artificial and sur could be a little more "locked". -Sanjeev

Reminiscent of Ghulam Ali ghazals like "hungama kyon barpa" with the simple harmonium accompaniment. -Shalini

Rohit Sharma made a splash with his noteworthy ghazal-numa songs in "The Signature" in 2024 and he continues to engage with this sombre, sophisticated, and subtle form of music with sincerity and solemnity. Shellee's searingly simple yet incredibly self-assured words make a mark (यारियों के हम हैं मुर्शीद, हम ही तो मुरीद हैं; यार गर हैं रू-ब-रू, तो लम्हा लम्हा ईद हैं) and then Devendrapal Singh once again manages to stand out from the current crop of singers as one to look out for. He has a certain amount of gravitas to his singing which has become rarer and when given a song to dig his teeth in, he has repeated proven to be reliable. A much needed soothing song this year! -Apoorv

Melodious song - fresh as it leans away from typical remixed music, aiming for a more heartfelt, , and "close to home" feel. -Ajay

Pleasant surprise to hear a ghazal in these times, even better when there's a prominent use of Harmonium in the traditional mould. -Shivani

Promising but fails to deliver and ends up like a liquor ad song. -Pavan

Traditional ghazal-type song with harmonium and tabla and reall good singing. -Vaishali

Devender Singh Pal's voice does wonders to the song. -Anish

Emotional ghazal. -Vidyu

A track that feels like it belongs in a house party scene in an '80s Hindi film. -Uday

Loved the acoustic guitars, orchestral touches, Vishal Mishra's heartfelt vocals blending with Pritam's signature synths, the lyrical refrain, creating an intimate, introspective, modern urban love song. -Ajay

It is the backing vocals that do it for me. They are wonderfully timed in the song and whenever they show up, the song gets a much deserved pop. Vishal Mishra was omnipresent in 2025, both as a singer and a composer. This one was one his best as a singer. There is an abandon in his voice here that hits the mark with aplomb. In an album filled with noteworthy songs, this one deserved some attention too. -Apoorv

I love the sound Pritam gives this song. Vishal Mishra is up to the task of providing the anthemic vocal this desires. -Runcil

Guitar solo is the best part of the song; what is the choir doing with that "swoop"? More "erratic tremor" singing, affected pronunciation in the "chorus" section. .. Song kinda goes on and on. -Sanjeev

Tuneful anthemic rock with a beautiful slide guitar solo. -Uday

Arrangements similar to songs of Love in a Metro used for recall and connection to the sequel. -Shivani

This is Pritam getting back into his zone with a bang! The tantalizing music that plays after ‘Mantar chalaayaa yaa’ and the children’ish chorus that repeats the ‘Mann Ye Mera’ refrain ending it in a ‘Oooooyeh’ notes. .. Oooof! -Karthik

Wonderful word play by Neelesh Misra. Excellent singing by Vishal Mishra. -Anish

Aha! The Metro song! Vishal does well to keep alive the spirit. . The chorus also adds a lot and lifts the song to a high. -Pavan

In Metro Mood, still doesn't announce itself. Short phrasing sounds like too many speed breakers… Guitar riffs are familiar. -Pavan

Interesting vocal contrast between the "soft as raindrops" beginning and the "explosive" chorus. My favorite part is the distinctly Indian electric guitar solo before the verse. -Sanjeev

The way Pritam lands each word in ‘Dil Ka Kya’ is just one of the many charming part so this lovely song. -Karthik

Raghav Chaitanya's KK-esque vocal goes harder than Pritam's composition. -Uday

Good song with a nice operatic vibe to it. -Anish

Noisy little affair. -Shalini

Words lost in the high pitched copmposition and singing. Percussion is too overpowering. Cannot really figure out what is being sung. -Shivani

My favourite song off the Metro In Dino album, even if I prefer Vishal Mishra's voice as well as Pritam's production on that version better. But this is as good. Raghav Chaitanya brings a sensitivity to the song that Mishra doesn't. -Runcil

Decent singing carries it. -Manjiri

Sounds very similar to Alvida and other such songs. -Vidyu

Raghav goes grunge and does it well. But the real star here is Meghdeep Bose and Roland Fernandes's Guitars and Raj Kumar Dewan's Bass across the interludes. Can't help but wonder the wonder that KK would have done with this one - this had his signature all over it. -Apoorv

One of the least weak; decent singing & shape. -Manjiri

Biased towards sound of Amitabh B.' S words - he writes very lyrically. They convey the feelings of impossible love associated with heartbreak or deep romance,. -Ajay

Different portions of the song are reminiscent of different songs, but cohesively the song works! Shreya is hardly a surprise for being utterly listenable in romantic duets like this, but Varun Jain makes his mark felt with some very assured singing. Especially the portions when both the singers synchronize in different octaves is done very well. Tejas Vinchurkar's background Flute pieces are very melodious. Sachin-Jigar and Amitabh Bhattacharya are a team that hardly disappoint and they maintain that track record here as well. -Apoorv

Can always trust Sachin-Jigar to come up with melodious ballads. Wish there more for Shreya Ghoshal to do in this song. -Runcil

Delightful, heartfelt melody with enchanting vocals! -Vidyu

Nice melody. -Shalini

Again, the flat male vocals with minimal inflections. .. Particularly grating in the antara - what is the allure? ! Shreya G. Is true-to-form. Nice partial same-octave duet in the mukhda. Stock lyrics. -Sanjeev

Shreya has always sounded beautiful in base notes, rarely anyone makes her do that. Smooth composition you wouldn't switch off while playing but nothing memorable, Shreya makes it for a better hearing. -Shivani

Lovely Sufi chorus harmonies with modern rock/fusion, Hindustani classical influences, electric bass, harmonium, tabla, and Rahman's signature immersive sound, creating an interesting listen based on a blended genre. Complex work will need several listens to appreciate the finer points. -Ajay

Love how percussion stands out in this song. -Nagarajan

While I understand I am in a strict minority here, but ARR singing is not my favorite element of his musical oeuvre. Ofcourse he has some stellar songs as a singer, but the serious lack of vocal range and yet the continual urge to sing in the higher octaves was something I never understood. The same problem plagues this song for me. Too screechy and yet too monotonous. Special mention to Rahul Prakash's Tabla here, great dynamism that captures the mood of the song wonderfully. -Apoorv

Pairing the tabla and lead guitar is a stroke of genius. -Runcil

Don't understand why Rehman insists upon destroying his own composiitons by singing them. This was painful. -Shalini

Loud emotion, little originality. -Manjiri

Soulful qawalli that reminded me of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan's Saanson Ki Mala. -Anish

A dark qawwali with an incredible intense ending. -Uday

His all-round genius aside - I have ARR qawwali fatigue. .. And his singing and pronunciation still don't do it for me. The sargams are (as often they are) gratuitous and boring (speed just makes them sound cluttered). -Sanjeev

The qawwali doesn't work despite ARR going back to his taraana aalaap, which is less efferctive this time. . -Pavan

Unflashy, sincere words of surrender and dedication with quietly effective music. -Deepa

Signature ARR, both in music and singing. The kind of composition where you'd not bother about singing or lyrics, just keep hearing with eyes closed, "hoping" to take you to a trance, because it sure isn't at par with his earlier works in the genre. Still, a decent one. -Shivani

An absolute favourite. A Manan Bhardwaj one-man show, but all elements are given enough justice. Prashant Sonagra's Tabla, Arshad Khan's Esraj, and those claps are just excellent additions to a richly composed orchestration. Soothing singing where Manan elevates his own beautiful tune. -Apoorv

A quiet qawwali seems like an oxymoron, but the description is apt here. Wouldn't have minded if the song was a little longer. -Shalini

Maintains a low-burning intensity. -Uday

Lovely use of sarangi in this song. -Vaishali

At a tight playtime of under 3 minutes, Manan Bhardwaj delivers the song of the Nishaanchi 2-parter. -Nagarajan

Tender lyrics and lingering melody. Liked the mixing of classical and pop elements in the song. Raw intense emotions, longing, and fragility of love offer a soothing thought. -Ajay

Manan Bhardwaj does a good job as a composer and singer. The lyrics could have been better though. -Anish

Why the lazy throw to start the mukhda? More pronunciation indifferent to the differences between consonants. Doubling/layering of the voices for the refrain is hypnotic. -Sanjeev

Catchy vibrant tune blending traditional Indian sounds with modern dance music and signature Amit Trivedi arrangements. The tune is not developed through the song, but love the chorus and the building of the crescendo. -Ajay

A fun, dance track. Madhubanti Bagchi is my favorite singer of this year. -Vaishali

Quite like the folkish treatment in both the composition and especially the lyrics.
Qatal Krey Upar Se Bole Margayi Re - very gaanv ki nachili kataniyan feel. Don't really like the tonal quality Madhubanti has come up with, she has sung it fantastic nevertheless. -Shivani

Very catchy dance number. Fanastic worldplay by Amitabh Bhattcaharya. -Anish

"Standard" item song? But sigh of relief upon hearing an unpretentious "desi" tune. Female vocals - nailed it! -Sanjeev

What a romp! We need one every year and this is deserves all the praise it gets. Amit Trivedi is a master of this genre and he does not disappoint - never thought I would hear Shehnai (by Omkar Dhumal) used as it was in that interlude. Amitabh Bhattacharya as usual manages to infuse gravitas to the romp - he doesn't bother being tongue-in-cheek, he is right in your face (काहे की मर्दानगी तेरी, आया न औरत का दिल अगर छू के देखना) but does it with a little wink and that hits paydirt! But if it was Anupama Chakraborty Shrivastava a couple of years ago, this time it is Madhubanti Bagchi's time to shine. Shilpa Rao - Amit Trivedi, the reasons to listen this. -Pavan

Amit Trivedi in a Vishal-Sheykhar mood? Arijit and Shilpa are an interesting vocal pair with their range differences and they both sound in sync here. A decent song that will play on my list for a few days before it gets lost in the ether. But its one of the good ones. -Apoorv

One of the more accessible tunes composed by Amit Trivedi in the recent past. -Anish

A soulful, contemporary love song. The signature is soft strings, piano, and classic emotional vocals. Liked the effects of the two vocals singing the same refrain in a different style. -Ajay

The tune goes a long way for me in how much I ended up liking this song. Shilpa Rao once again stealing a song from under Arijit's nose. -Runcil

Hearing Shilpa always feels good even if it's a mediocre song. However, it's a complete mismatch for Vaani on-screen and so is Arijit for Fawaad. Guess Fawaad would have done a better job singing in his baritone. -Shivani

Breezy little ditty. And it's always a pleasure to hear Shilpa Rao. Her presence almost makes up for Arijit Singh. Almost. -Shalini

What's with "laaKH sitaaron. .."? Weird 80s synth sounds in M1. .. Tune has some distinct old-time ethos; same-octave duet working quite well, Arijit's voice sounds light and free of the "straightjacket" he is often forced into. Shilpa Rao is fun to listen to as well. .. Vocals carry the song. -Sanjeev

Khudaya Ishq does sound like a pastiche of a few other Amit’s own songs. But with Arijit and Shilpa’s wonderful singing, this song just effortlessly flows. -Karthik

For all intents and purposes, this song is owned by Keba Jeremiah's Bass and Gino Banks' Drums - everything and everyone else is gravy on top. Particularly love the chord change in the second interlude which takes the song into its riveting cresendo. Arijit's control of the high notes along with his breath control is commendable and he manages the pitch progressions seamlessly. A worth addition to a very different ARR album. -Apoorv

There's a lot to like about the song sonically, but the way it slowly shifts into prog rock territory is by far what I love about it. Superb move to get Gino Banks on drums. -Runcil

The opening hum doesn't do justice to the mood and the track that follows. Experimental and cliched at the same time. Love it nonetheless. -Nagarajan

A cliched Arijit detracts from a few interesting things going on. -Uday

Apart from composing an accessible tune, Rahman arranges it very well. The lyrics by Irshad Kamil and the rendition by Arijit Singh, both, are brilliant. -Anish

ARR-Kamil disappointss here and how… Sounds like an extended song from Saiyyara. -Pavan

More weird Arijit - is he channeling ARR, Atif Aslam, or some other "inspiration"…the humming is more irritating each time I hear it…the pageantry of the rock drums/guitars, orchestral strings, and choirs says "action sequence" - need to watch the movie? -Sanjeev

This song literally screams "overwrought and all the frentic violin/guitar playing and drum banging turns out to be much ado over nothing. -Shalini

The nostalgic Vishal and Sheykhar sound, cooked to perfection! This is the kind of song that could have easily been in a soundtrack like Anjaana Anjaani 15 years ago, and yet here it is, in 2025, creating the same effect! -Karthik

Shekhar's vocals are energetic, Shruti Pathak's octaved vocals sound nice too. Overall feels like a nice background track to drive to, but not sure anything really "sticks" with me. -Sanjeev

Peppy, catchy number that crates a fusion of Indian pop, EDM, hip hop styles, highlighting Vishal Shekhar's signature catchy tunes reminiscent of Anjaana-Anjaani. -Ajay

Composition similar to Vishal-Shekhar's Anjana Anjani, the latter was however was memorable. The hook line does grow on you though after a few repeats. Not a fan of falsetto, despite that Shruti Pathak sounds good. -Shivani

Catchy, peppy number. -Shalini

Simple enough song but nice retro touches with the strings and a earwormy chorus. -Uday

Extremely catchy hook line. Everything else is pretty run-of-the-mill well-polished Vishal-Sheykhar-Anvita Dutt stuff. Pleasantly surprised to see Shekhar render this and not Vishal though. -Apoorv

Blends traditional Ghazal poetry with modern Pop and Rock elements. Contemporary production, synths, and electric guitars alongside classical Urdu lyrics, create a soulful, emotionally deep soundtrack that explores the theme of the movie. Interesting experiment that evokes urban loneliness with a modern twist on old-world charm. -Ajay

Adaptation of the famous gazal; well-sung by both (including faintly audible alaaps by Shilpa Rao), nicely-done arrangement. -Sanjeev

B Praak makes Shipa sound subdued, by design it seems. . Lyrics rating only for new additions. -Pavan

B Praak makes such an unusual partner to Shilpa Rao's voice but it works because of that pairing. Helps that Pritam has crafted a beautiful melody. -Runcil

The one set of songs (this and Papon's tandem) from a overwhelmingly good soundtrack that just did not work for me. It felt run-of-the-mill and something that I hear atleast once every year is some film. B Praak and Shilpa are competent singers, but I feel my ears are growing jaded to these type of songs and this type of singing. -Apoorv

B Praak was an unusual choice for this song. Sandeep Shrivastava's builds on Momin Khan Momin's ghazal nicely. -Anish

Liked Shilpa, did not like male singer. Had to go listen to "main teri nazar ka suroor hoon" thanks to the "tumhe yaad ho na ho" coda of this song. -Shalini

Pritam does something interesting by bringing in B Praak and Shilpa Rao, while the original had just Papon. The duet, amped up version offers a genuinely different experience. -Karthik

Shilpa's voice never fails for any ghazalish melodic structure, the reason of 0. 25 In singing. Pritam's composition for the female part is very likeable. The high pitched male part of composition makes it a template too often heard and ignored. -Shivani

Tushar Joshi sings these type of soaring romantic numbers wonderfully ("ve kamleya" is a good companion piece to this). The wajan of his voice remains stable on the higher notes which make them sound full-throated and clear, which was on display beautifully here. Madhubanti Bagchi worked well here as well. Sachin-Jigar create another pleasing melody right up their musical mold. -Apoorv

Nice composition. -Vidyu

Subdued and controlled tempo brings out the confusion and the emotional hurt effectively. -Deepa

Same-octave duet, both male and female vocals are well done and don't sound overly mechanized. -Sanjeev

Nicely written lyrics fitting both the composition and the situation very well. A likeable song overall. -Shivani

The supporting instrumentals add value to the functional singing… Sachin Jigar makes it listenable. -Pavan

Sachin-Jigar's best work in 2025 was not for Maddock films but for this Netflix dud. This album had the elements of Vishal-Shekhar 2000s hit, and most of it worked for me, including this song. -Nagarajan

Kavita Seth sings this jazz-tinged song with a lot of grace. -Anish

Great to hear Kavita Seth after a while in this. Kavita-Kanishk produce an appealing melody, with some wonderful arrangments. -Nagarajan

Oh, what effusive sultriness in Kavita Seth's voice! Not to mention her crystal clear diction that adds to the dynamism of the song. ID Rao's Saxophone and Shomu Seal's Guitar complement her voice to perfection creating a delightfully swaying ambiance. The mother-son composer duo of Kavita and Kanishk Seth come up with a composition that lilts through the air and is reminisant of the club songs of yore, yet manages a fresh sound akin to an Amit Trivedi. -Apoorv

Vocals weighty and textured, but also a little viscous. Backdrop (drums/bass/guitar/sax) is attractive - but ordinary tune essentially gives the vocals nowhere to go. .. -Sanjeev

Fresh take on ghazals with a sensual, longing feel. The song uniquely blends New-Age/Modern Jazz with retro vibes, Sufi, and a touch of cabaret/burlesque. Very creative in terms of electronic elements and traditional Indian poetry set to contemporary sounds,. -Ajay

Liked the bits of jazz infused in the composition. Average song otherwise. -Shivani

Nice to hear a more mature, feminine voice. -Shalini

Slinky jazz pop with a nice low-key vocal. -Uday

Vishal Mishra was really on a roll in 2025 and his output went from strength to strength and across genres. Here he sounded extremely grounded, especially the rendition of that mukhda was fabulous. Pleasant enough listen, good for driving, not sure what else - sounds like he is saying "ma-haw-bat" in several spots, copy-paste artifact? Antara is surprisingly unmelodic compared to mukhda. -Sanjeev

There are much better songs in this soundtrack than this oft-heard typical high-pitched Arijit angst. -Apoorv

Pritam signature in the song all the way. Disappointed to not find anything special or fresh musically. The songs seem to be designed to be played in the background versus being vocalized by the main characters. -Ajay

Too much of Arijit is now killing the pleasure, still he makes you forgive for the overdose with the love thrown in with politenss, in his rendering. -Pavan

Love the premise! Song fits Shankar Mahadevan like a glove. The word "nothing" is actually perfect for his kind of rhythmic play. Yodels a nod to Kishore Kumar. -Sanjeev

Peppy, energetic, and motivational Shankar number with the typical SEL feel, blends catchy beats. Lyrics are the modern mix of Hindi/English words with themes of grit and teamwork. Guitar beats remind me of Dil Dhadakne Do themes. -Ajay

Routine composition that gets some suuport from Amitabh Bhattacharya's quirky lyrics and Shankar Mahdevan's singing. -Anish

Finally Shankar on the playlist. . Amitabh is good with word play and that take on Papa kahte hain. -Pavan

Serviceable but unmemorable. -Manjiri

SEL composing after long, feels good to hear Shankar. From Majrooh writing Papa kehte hain bada kaam karega to Amitabh Bhattacharya writing Bada hoke badnaam karega for Aamir, this song is good for something if not everything. -Shivani

A quintessential Shankar Mahadevan song if there was one. He just brings a certain amount of joie de vivre to songs like these which is very infectious. Particularly love Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy's excellent use of the multi-track system and not forget Amitabh Bhattacharya's quirky lyrics which are also an ode to the main actor's original famous song. Quite a romp! -Apoorv

Shankar Mahadevan's "masti" is infectious and the lyrics made me grin. -Shalini

Tried to create a typical Folk+HF melody. While the thought is appreciated, the output is not. Don't know who or what made Neeti sing the way she has sung; completely unrecognizable, unlikeable, and unlike her. Shaan seems to be effortful in emoting. -Shivani

What's this, an actual song to sing? Relishing the zesty vocals from both Shaan and Neeti Mohan, very slickly edited if at all. -Sanjeev

Romantic song incorporating elements of Desi Pop modern beats with traditional percussion sounds. Creates an interesting soft romantic effect with modern foot tapping music. -Ajay

Some points for Nostalgia only… Shaan in Saanu mode is not a great fit. . -Pavan

Captivating composition with lovely voices. -Vidyu

Liked the melody, liked the lyrics, liked Shaan, did not like the female singer. -Shalini

Lovely melody and easily mistaken for a song in a Sanjay Leela Bhansali film. -Nagarajan

Found the tune and the lyrics to be extremely underwhelming. -Anish

Good to hear Shaan again. -Vaishali

Soft and infectious. Holds up the melody till the end. -Deepa

Good to hear Shaan singing a song that works nicely with the texture of his voice, not sure if Neeti Mohan's voice worked as well though. Monty Sharma composed some nice tunes for this album and it was good to see him come back to compose an entire soundtrack. Loved the Sarod-Shehnai-Flute combo used in the interlude. -Apoorv

A touch of early Rahman in this track. -Uday

Duniya Alag is Arijit Singh’s show, as usual. With a fairly predictable tune too, the man does his wonders, elevating it beautifully. -Karthik

Intended to be a strong statement, but with a weak delivery musically. -Pavan

Restrained music gives a dramatic feel of quiet distance and helplessness. -Deepa

Nice string interludes. -Vidyu

Minimal rhythm with the guitars filing is refreshing. -Sanjeev

Lovely use of the Mandolin in the first interlude. Arijit brings in the right amount of emotion and Shreyas Puranik concocts a melody that is strong enough to give him the space to emote through. -Apoorv

The composition reminded me of the much superior title track of Dhadak (2018). -Anish

Arijit Singh's powerful, vocal range and emotive vocals explore new themes of love. May take some time to grow after repeated listens. -Ajay

Beautiful composition. The lyrics, written by the composer himself, are filled with grammatical errors and other issues. -Anish

The most-Mithoon style song not compsoed by Mithoon! -Karthik

The almost listless singing drains all the emotional power of the lyrics. Needed a more charismatic, more emotive voice. -Shalini

Jubeen's soulful rendering makes this a memorable song. The work fits his vocals and conveys deep love and heartbreak. The rock version adds an Indie Rock/Pop-Rock flavor. Electric guitar is perfectly used and the song ends just right! Incredible album featuring variety of chartbusters with every song. -Ajay

Standard heartbreak template. -Manjiri

Had fun reading the MD's name. The Rish, as he likes to call himself, with Rishabh Kant in parenthesis. As for the composition - it's neither Rishabh Pant nor Rishabh Can't. Ki ho naa jaaye pyaar tumse mujhe, Kar dega barbaad ishq mujhe - these lines sum up the movie situation well. A couple of sparks in an otherwise unremakable song. -Shivani

The main hook is pretty addictive, but somehow the more you listen, it just melts into another one of the dozen Jubin songs. Nothing outstanding in the lyrics, but The Rish has managed to stitch together a melodious enough song. Overall perfectly serviceable. -Apoorv

One-a-year Ashiqui season is back. . Mohit Suri's album more than anyone else. Jubin's voice is tailor made for Suri's brand of suffering. -Pavan

The initial "Tujhse Door" feels flippant and slightly irritating (as are the "aalaaps" in the interlude), but the song grew on me somewhat after that. Pleasantly unexpected warmth when the vocals drop down for "Ke Ho Na Jaaye Pyaar". Sarangi pieces are nice. Eminently pleasant, but hard to call it memorable. No attempt to grab the appropriate consonants on "zaKHmon" and "Gam". -Sanjeev

Very catchy sound and it most certainly has a groovy hook to it. Vishal Mishra doesn't produce something extraordinarily new here, but it services the need and manages to creates a certain amount of interest as the song progresses to a symphonious cresendo. The lyrics are pretty generic, but it is Hansika Pareek again who comes in late for a small time but makes a mark. She is truly the find of the year for me. -Apoorv

Tum Ho Toh is the best of the soundtrack. Vishal not only composes the cohesive, dreamy melody well but also sings it really well, along with Hansika Pareek. -Karthik

Bouncy love song that one can hear on a loop. -Anish

Peppy if rather bland love song. -Uday

Soulful melody, heartfelt lyrics about young love. Vishal Mishra and Hansika Pareek have soothing vocals. The lush orchestration fits a contemporary Indian film. The instrumentation with modern Bollywood sound and prominent vocals, features synth elements, and a traditional Indian melody. -Ajay

Like every other song in the list, I heard this one at least 3 times and my reaction each time before listening was - "which one is this now?" That's how memorable this song was to me. -Shalini

The "erratic vibrato" again. .. Voice has good reach into the upper registers. The "chorus" sounds like a nursery rhyme. Female vocals are a bright spot, "khona nahin 'ai'" aside. -Sanjeev

Another template song which isn't too hard on ears. I like the honesty and simplicity with which the lyrics are written. . Not trying too hard to stand out. -Shivani

A soulful, romantic ballad that blends traditional Bollywood melodies with A. R. Rahman's signature emotional depth. Probably the best song of that soundtrack strengthened by Arijit's vocals and some unusual harmonies that match the movie's situation. -Ajay

I was hoping for an "in lamhon ke daaman mein" or a "sapna hain sach hain" but while this had all the makings of being that one romantic song in a periodic film, the feel was a bit amiss. The Budapest Scoring Orchestra created a great Strings element to this, but the song never quite reached a crescendo and with Arijit at the helm, that felt like a miss. -Apoorv

Don't know whether it is the overdose of Arijit or the lyrics, I found both unnecessary in the song. Not that it's one of the best compositions as well but I feel I would like hearing an instrumental version better. -Shivani

A beautiful melody which keeps growing with every listening. -Anish

Reminscent of old ARR tracks and doent sound for the era its set. Nice listen when isolated from the film. ARR should have tried Abhay Jodhpurkar. -Pavan

There's a fine between soothing and boring. -Shalini

Mukhda feels like a nursery rhyme, then suddenly all kinds of melodic intricacy and delicacy in the antara. .. And then a random key change to finish it off? Where is it going and why? Guess I need to watch the movie? -Sanjeev

Didn't work for me, in either of the versions. -Nagarajan

Serviceable but even Shreya couldn't make this memorable. -Apoorv

Light, sweet song that doesn't ask much of the listener. -Shalini

Tanishk Bagchi creates the kind of song that reminds one of Punjabi pop songs. -Anish

Very conspicuous edits distract from otherwise attractive male vocals. Another same-octave duet, I rather like Shreya G. In the lower registers. .. Some words are jammed in a little awkwardly in places. .. With all the tech tools at their disposal, they couldn't align the dholak and female voice better at the end? ? -Sanjeev

A really sweet tune that gets better because of the singing by Harnoor, and especially Shreya Ghoshal who rules the lower notes. -Karthik

Modern melody with nostalgic touches, blending soft, dreamy romance with a fresh, catchy feel, and Punjabi roots:). -Ajay

Hansee aayi na. . Didn't work for me. . Is it really Shreya? Or processed refined sugar with name Shreya on it? -Pavan

The slight processing effect on the singers' voices hamper what is on the surface a sweet melody. Shame! -Runcil

Lyrics make you chuckle a couple of times - Shaadi wali milti laqeer apni, Aane waali jaldi tareekh apni. Tanishk sounds like Javed Ali many a times sans the nuqta wheneever he sings the word "Khayaal", par theek hai, bhool chuk maaf, it's a forgettable song anyway. -Shivani

Rahman is creating another new brand of music with this film. Signatures with soulful piano, and modern production creates an intense, emotional love song. Nice soft ending. -Ajay

This song took me a while to get used to because I lover certain parts of the song, like the two instrumental, operatic parts in the middle + when Jonita Gandhi enters the song towards the end. Just wish Nitesh Aher's parts—as much as I recognise that's what the film is demanding—weren't so. .. Pleading. -Runcil

Nice arrangement with piano. -Vidyu

One of those AR Rahman songs that's hard to wrap around the head with. Nitesh sounds much like AR Rahman in places (with better enunciation and sound). This song takes me to Uyir Uruguthey from Cobra. -Nagarajan

Five minutes of torture. -Shalini

If not for that Bass and Piano symphony running in the background, I would have been hell-bent on refusing this to be an AR Rahman composition. This felt contrived and Nitesh Aher's laissez-faire singing (which is very much in the ARR vein) just grated on me throughout. Sadly not for me. -Apoorv

Mukhda an explicit nod to Pilu. Nitish Aher had me fooled into thinking I was actually enjoying ARR's vocals. .. Lyrics a little muddled in spots, odd pronunciation of 'khwwwwwwwaaab", well-sung by Jonita Gandhi. -Sanjeev

An intricate composition by A. R. Rahman that keeps growing on you with every listen. -Anish

Rahman of old but without the same impact of old. . -Pavan

Another decent composition marred by singing. Nitesh Aher sounds like a tired ARR and feels dragged in the higher notes. Somehow, the lyrics don't seem to be very fitting either. -Shivani

Overall a disappointing album from ARR. -Vaishali

Andrew Lloyd Webber-style arrangement by his former collaborator. -Uday

The voice is not bad at all, but the weird editing they've done with it in the beginning is distracting. .. The chorus is garish. .. -Sanjeev

Letting go of someone with a bit of angst and a tinge of sadness yet with a lot of confidence in self. Loved the lyrics and the tone they set for the song. Singing is good, a better composition could have made it memorable. -Shivani

The electronic backgrounds complement this intense love song very well. -Anish

Catchy Sachin-Jigar melody with contemporary arrangements. Madhubanti leads her characteristic voice for one of the better dance numbers this year. -Ajay

Yes, this is the Madhubanti Bagchi season, but give her something more than this generic run-of-the mill stuff. Didn't we already get 'aaj ki raat' from the same team last year? -Apoorv

Sachin-Jigar dipping into the bottom of their dance-template well. Think it's time to wrap this up. -Runcil

Another entry in the fast developing sub-genre that is Sachin-Jigar-Maddock-beat. -Nagarajan

It's an okay song. -Vidyu

A very, very obvious attempt at riding on the composing duo’s own ‘Aaj Ki Raat’. They get the hook superbly right, once again, and from there, it just flows. -Karthik

Clearly meant to be the "Aaj ki raat" of 2025. I do like Madhubanti Bagchi's voice and throughly enjoyed listening to the song. -Shalini

Arijit is earnest and shows his flair in spots (like the pull on "apna banaa~~~~ne ke liye last time through). .. But it sounds like a dozen other songs of his. Hard to call it memorable. -Sanjeev

Good listening. Classic Arijit feel! -Vidyu

Love the progression of the bass and the sophistication of the harmonies as the song progresses. Arijit Singh's voice is synonymous with modern Hindi romantic hits, and this song with Mithoon's sensitive melodies hits that spot. The song creates a deep emotional core be-fitting as one of Arijit's best in 2025. -Ajay

The song of Saiyaara and who better than Arijit to voice it. He has done similar numbers across the Aashiqui's and other Bhatt Productions and Mithoon compositions, so he can tap into the emotion pretty much at will at this point because there isn't a real challenge presented here. Low hanging fruit plucked serviceably. -Apoorv

Morose stadium rock. -Uday

Sounds very similar to many of Mithoon's compositions. The lyrics did not work for me at all. -Anish

The Saiyyara songs works well when they are heard as album, for the ambiance all over, but have lesser impact when heard in isolation… The progression is predictable and overall the mood and the sadness lacks grip. -Pavan

Feels like background score. -Manjiri

Low-key catchy duet with a fine Jonita vocal. -Uday

Only the rendition by Arijit Singh and Jonita Gandhi worked for me. -Anish

Wonder if Arijit was prompted to sing like Mohit Chauhan in the initial part of the song. Jonita lends a crisp to an otherwise lazy sounding song. -Shivani

Oh no…weird Arijit is back…why do they make him do this gratuitous "lafangebaazi" thing? I may have rated the song higher if I wasn't so distracted by his voice. Jonita Gandhi has got chops but sounds a little affected in spots. -Sanjeev

An emotional saga which unfold slowly. The continuity of the lyrics is worth listening. -Deepa

Romantic song with underlying Rock/Orchestral vocal elements. The musical feels driven by vocals and complementing instrumentation which is not common in average pop Bollywood songs of today. -Ajay

Arijit was very hot and cold for me this year, and this one was neatly in the freezing category. Even Jonita sounds like she was forced to be there. The orchestration felt a tad too loud for my taste, and the singing was serviceable to mediocre at best. -Apoorv

Title track-level genericism. -Manjiri

Sounds similar to other bollywood songs of this genre. Lacks originality. -Vidyu

Well-srtuctured composition that does not break any new ground. Benefits hugely from Vishal Mishra's vocals. -Anish

A catchy hook by Kaushik-Guddu, sung by them only. Vishal Mishra is OK here. -Pavan

Progressive Melodic House remixes, romantic tones, and pop/dance sounds, expressing the film's core theme. Alternating between soft acoustics and modern sensibilities creates a unique effect. -Ajay

Another song reminding of Kehna hi kya when the tabla is introduced with notes. Vishal Mishra sounds better than his other songs with a marked individuality in his tonal quality. -Shivani

Too much, too loud, too repetitive. The Harmonium and Tabla/Dholak make a good appearance but the whole thing was rather cacophonous. Can't stand the anglicized 'fir' anymore. Are we losing the 'ph (फ)' sound? -Apoorv

When the ‘Tu hi armaan’ line explodes, guitars blazing the backdrop, I was pleasantly taken aback because the opening of the song hardly prepared me for that 🙂 Kaushik-Giddu’s composition and music sound like the power version of a Mithoon song, considering the latter has almost seemed to have given up composing anything energetic and focusing more on musically anemic melodies. Excellent singing by Vishal Mishra too, as always. -Karthik

More of the "erratic tremor" vocalism. .. Voice is otherwise not bad, easy reach into the upper octave, musical backdrop including harmonium/rabab flavors is nice enough. .. Song sections feel a little disjoint. -Sanjeev

Mysterious track with an unusual vocal and surprising variations in pace and tone. -Uday

Aha! The Piyush Mishra song. . He is imperfect, bumpy here, but still makes it listenable for his rustic charms. The song is not as magical as the film demands or promises, but has some. -Pavan

Is he trying to be some kind of modern-day SD Burman? Casual throw of words and sur meant to create a friendly, informal effect - so far hasn't done anything more than irritate. .. Eminently pleasant orchestration cannot save it. -Sanjeev

Neither the tune nor the lyrics worked that well for me. The arrrangements were good. -Anish

While not a big fan of Piyush Mishra's rendition of this, but the composition and the lyrics definitely make you take note.
वादी में घूम ले, झोंके को चूम ले.
पर्वत से बात कर, बरगद को साथ कर.
भोला सा जीवन है ये, जी ले तू ज़रा.
Simple. Succinct. -Apoorv

Creates an intimate, atmospheric soundtrack that emphasizes storytelling over typical pop structures. Magical realism narrative, blending soulful, slow-paced music with folklore, often using traditional sounds to match its "firefly tale" theme. Nice find! -Ajay

Reminded me of many of the love songs that started getting popular in the mid 2000s. -Anish

I used to be extremely delighted when I used to identify an OP Nayyar or a Salil Chaudhary or a Shankar-Jaikishan song on a first listen - I guessed this to be an Arijit Singh song under Tanishk Bagchi without knowing the credits. Voice sounds fairly "organic" (I. E. Not pathologically edited), purposefully throaty but it's actually working for me here. Some good modulation, esp. In the antara and the ending piece. Momentary silence right after antara is effective. Instrumental backing, including the guitar intro, sets the stage nicely. -Sanjeev

A Vishal Mishra one-man show. And it got a bit slate and repetitive towards the antras. It almost felt like the effort in composing was all exhausted in the mukhda and the antras were then just expounded off of that. -Apoorv

Functional, but works as a Party-First, Film-Later item from Pritam's bank. Made for community listenings/dancing at Wedding entires and reels in this season than leisurely listen. -Pavan

Formulaic and forgettable. Why would it be nominated. -Manjiri

This slots itself perfectly in the War, Fighter, Bang Bang world of cool and suave Hrithik Roshan songs that are technically polished and laced a foot-tapping energy - only difference being this time its Pritam and Arijit Singh instead of Vishal-Shekhar and Vishal Dadlani.
